Why We Do It

We can all share stories of names and faces of Christian leaders that we have personally seen struggle with loneliness, discouragement, burn out or feelings of failure.  In fact nearly eighty percent of those that enter ministry leadership in there twenties and thirties are done within five years. Fifty percent of pastors are so discouraged they would leave ministry now, if they could find a way to make a living. Almost half of pastors’ marriages end in divorce, and hundreds leave the ministry each month due to moral failure, fatigue, burnout, or contention with their churches or ministries.

As a result there are many young and more seasoned leaders today that desperately need to experience God’s grace and forgiveness. They need a Harbor, a place to be resourced, restored, rest, listen, find inspiration, and get empowered to do what it takes to pursue God, to keep dreaming big, to run this race with purpose and to finish it well.

So out of our own journeys, our own brokenness, and passionate pursuit of God came  Harbor Ministries, a 501c3 organization, governed by a board of directors.

Mission—To help strategic leaders live with rhythm, leave a legacy and finish well.

A rhythm… that is balanced, purposeful, clear, centered and sustainable over the long haul. A legacy…. that is intentional and deeply impacts our families, ministries and those we influence. A finish… that exists with resilience, intentionality and character that helps keep us true to who we are and what we where created to be.

How? Through RHYTHMinTWENTY. Twenty leaders a year are invited into a three event, three-year journey. It taps simple biblical principles that are both new and old. It is innovative, deeply relational, and it’s changing the conversation on leadership development.
